This is my sixth year at St. Augustine School. I have worked as an art teacher for 7 years and as a music teacher for over 20 years. Sixteen of these years have been teaching in Catholic education. My background also includes a number of years as a Music Therapist. I hold a B.S. in Music from Duquesne University.
I believe strongly in the positive effects of Catholic Education having attended over 16 years of Catholic education myself. I have 3 college-aged children. My youngest son is at University of Akron studying Engineering, and my daughter works at an animal hospital as a receptionist and begins her studies in Foriegn Languages and Sign Language. My oldest son continues to attend Kent State and also serves as a tank driver in the Army National Guard.
I love teaching and believe that a good education in the arts is a very important part of as well-rounded student.
I enjoy singing, playing guitar, gardening, and shopping when I am not teaching. I feel so blessed to teach your children and I love every minute of my time at St. Augustine School.

I attended Immaculate Heart of Mary from grades K-8. From there, I spent four years at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. In December 2012, I graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. After graduating, I spent a semester as a Title I tutor at Seiberling Elementary School before being hired as a full-time teacher at St. Augustine School. I am excited to be entering my fourth year as a teacher at St. Augustine, but my first year as a P.E. teacher.
My hobbies include music, running, bowling, and sports. I started band when I was in the 5th grade and continued to play the trumpet in the marching band throughout my high school and college years. Recently, I have taken an interest in the guitar and ukulele in an attempt to expand my musical abilities. I have completed various 5K and 10K races, as well as three half marathons. In September 2014 I completed my first full marathon (4:50:01). Since I was never able to play contact sports in high school, I was a varsity bowler for four years and played various CYO sports when I attended I.H.M.
This is my third year teaching computer at St. Augustine school. I am a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a BSBA in Management Information Systems. I formerly worked for May Department Stores Company as the manager of their Cleveland store’s information department and as a programmer/analyst in their Great Lake’s Data Center in the area of Finance. I then worked for BW Rogers / Tribute as a software support representative, installation coordinator, Alpha/Beta site test manager, quality assurance manager and as a member of their windows package design team.
I reside in Barberton with my husband of twenty five years, Frank and our four children, Krystal, Rachael, Nicole and Michael. Krystal and Rachael are both graduates of St. Augustine School and currently attend Kent State University. Nicole and Michael currently attend St. Augustine School. We are members of St. Augustine parish and I am thankful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and love of computers and technology with the students of our school.
¡Hola! My name is Señorita Schweitzer and this is my 4th year teaching Spanish at St. Augustine for grades K-8. My favorite thing about knowing Spanish is that it has given me the opportunity to travel to amazing places and meet interesting people from all over the world. I love teaching at St. Augustine because I enjoy the wide range of grades that I teach. It's a privilege to watch our students grow in their faith and their view of the world through what they learn here.
Before coming to St. Augustine, I worked as a translator and office assistant at Immigrant Worker Project in Canton, Ohio. As a student at Kent State University, I worked as a Spanish tutor and I had unique opportunities to study in Costa Rica and Germany. I have also played and taught violin for many years, and enjoy playing and writing songs on the guitar, designing jewelry, and running. I am excited to be coaching Cross Country here at St. Augustine. Go Bobcats!
